INVEST YORK ROAD UPDATES - AUGUST 2023

On a monthly basis, we post a high-level summary of work that has happened with Invest York Road (IYR) over the course of the previous month so that community members can stay informed about the progress being made.

Here are updates for the month of August:

• Our work with the Brookings Institute's Buy Back the Block program continued, providing us with commercial real estate training and other technical assistance.
  
• We hosted Eben Altmann of B'More Kitchen and the Accelerator Space to learn about a successful redevelopment project in our service area.
  
• Efforts continued to identify a property to pursue as Invest York Road's initial acquisition, and we began evaluating and analyzing properties in greater detail to determine potential fit.
  
• As a part of our work to establish Invest York Road as its own independent entity, we filed our articles of incorporation with the State of Maryland.
