2026 Summer updates

This summer, we’re excited to share a few updates from Invest York Road and our work to build community ownership and power along the corridor.

First, please join us in welcoming Trinity Meggett-Johnson as IYR’s new Community Engagement Coordinator. Raised in Woodbourne Heights and passionate about community development, Trinity brings deep local roots and experience in social justice and advocacy to the team.

We’re also grateful to Ryan Corrigan, who is transitioning from his staff role into a position on the IYR Board. Over the past two years, Ryan has played an important role in strengthening community engagement and helping ensure our work reflects neighborhood voices.

We’re also proud to share that our Financial Empowerment Club — launched in partnership with Community Wealth Builders and supported by the NASDAQ Foundation — has already exceeded its midyear engagement goals. Our next session will take place Thursday, June 25 from 6:00–7:30 PM at 5104 York Road and will feature a special workshop on credit led by Operation HOPE. If you would like to RSVP click HERE.

At our core, Invest York Road exists because too many decisions about York Road’s commercial corridor have historically been made by absentee property owners rather than the people who live here. We believe community members should have a greater voice, greater ownership, and a greater share in the future of the corridor. We envision a York Road shaped by community wealth, community decision-making, and development that truly serves residents.  We are fighting to “Make York Road Yours!”​
