​LaVerne Nicholson Sykes is an educator and a community advocate. Her professional and personal experiences reflect a strong belief in and commitment to quality teaching and learning opportunities for all, equal access to resources, and safe and strong communities.

​Sa’d Maxwell is a remarketing analysis for a worldwide fleet management company based in Sparks, MD. As a Marine Corp Veteran, he is an advent volunteer for several organization focusing on community improvement throughout Baltimore. Sa’d has a passion for financial literacy and has significant experience leading workshops and trainings.
